National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) (formerly Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems (NAPAS)) -– NDRN is the voluntary national membership association of the nation’s protection and advocacy systems and client assistance programs.

Alabama Council for Developmental Disabilities (ACDD) -- The ACDD conducts advocacy, capacity building, and systems change activities in Alabama.  The Developmental Disabilities Act (DD Act) funds the ACDD along with the other two member agencies of the DD network in Alabama - ADAP and the Civitan.

Civitan -- The Civitan is Alabama's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). Housed at the University of Alabama Birmingham, it conducts research and training on issues related to persons with disabilities. The DD Act funds the Civitan along with the other two member agencies of the DD network in Alabama - ADAP and the Alabama Council for Developmental Disabilities.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) -- Federal umbrella for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD), and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) -- Umbrella for the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS).

  • Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) -- Administers the nation's Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) program.
  •  Social Security Administration (SSA) -- Administers the nation's Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security (PABSS) program.

    U.S. Department of Education (DOE)-- Federal umbrella for Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA).
