FACT SHEET

Katrina Aid Today is a national case management consortium sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Administration, and administered by The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).

Under KAT, the Mission of NDRN is to provide high quality, cost-effective nation-wide case management services for displaced individuals with disabilities and their families.  With over a quarter century of experience providing individual advocacy to children and adults with disabilities and their families, working through its federally mandated Protection &Advocacy system NDRN will:

  1. identify individuals with disabilities and their families and establish mechanisms for them to contact their P&A agency;
  2. take referrals of complex disability cases from other Consortium partners;
  3. assist 8000 individuals and their families to develop individual recovery plans;
  4. support the implementation of these recovery plans by navigating through complex delivery systems related to disability and other human and social services, supports and accommodations; and
  5. connect these individuals with additional resources through the Consortium, as well as legal or other advocacy services in the community if necessary.
